"I will sing of thy steadfast love, O Lord, for ever;”
Psalm 89

What does it take to be involved in the Music Ministry at Emerywood Baptist Church? All that is required is your Time, your Talent, your Commitment and your Service and a Heart to serve God through music. As worship leaders all choir participants give and receive many spiritual gifts. Music touches all in mind and spirit and anthems, choral responses and other service music underscore, enhance and re-enforce the message found in scripture, sermons and many other parts of the worship experience. Traditional music of classical composers drawn from hundred’s of years in the past, contemporary and living composer’s whose music follows in the footsteps of the past while breaking new ground, gospel style, spirituals, folk and world music are all parts of a beautiful music patchwork quilt bound by the great hymns of Christianity.

Sanctuary Choir

Wednesday 7:20 – 8:30pm Choir Room
Sunday 10:30 – 10:50am Choir Room

Open to all adults – college age through seniors who are willing to give of their time and talent each week at the 11:00am traditional service. Variety is the key as each Sunday we present music that praises the Lord and blesses the congregation with stronger faith and understanding. Special music programs occur during the year in accordance with the liturgical calendar. Guest artists are included in these presentations and have included in the past "Messiah” by G.F.Handel, "Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi and "Christmas Oratorio” by Camille Saint-Saens as a few examples.

Children’s Choirs

Wednesday 6:15– 7:15pm Choir Room

Young Singers grades K-2
Young Musicians grades 3-5

Children in grades k-5 meet as two separate groups for music and missions time on Wednesdays after our Fellowship Supper. In choir they learn songs appropriate for their age, which may be relevant to their missions study or seasonal material. A Christmas musical is presented at Fellowship Supper in December. Children learn basic music skills and hand chimes are introduced in Young Musicians.

Other Opportunities

Opportunities exist for those already involved in the Music Ministry at Emerywood and others to perform vocal or instrumental solos and to become a part of instrumental ensembles.

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
